Theme: The next step towards an integration of statistics and geography for sustainable development
Meeting: Second meeting of the European Forum for GeoStatistics
The current state of and the pressures on the environment require harmonised and high quality georeferenced statistical and other data as a fundamental support for planning a sustainable development of the human society in the future. A project “Information for sustainable development” has been proposed in order to meet these requirements as a contribution to the implementation of the INSPIRE directive.
Innovative approaches and solutions regarding the handling of small area statistics and web map applications will be discussed as well.
Registration
Registration to the Workshop should be made by completing the registration form on the Workshop website at

by 25 August at the latest. The max number of participants is 60.
Contributions
You are invited to contribute to the seminar with a presentation, poster or paper. The
presentations will be 15 minutes only but with time reserved for comments and discussion. It is therefore advisable that you in order to discuss a topic properly include a full paper and an executive summary. Also a special Poster Session will be organized to allow for contributions outside the audience program.

Workshop language
The Workshop will be conducted in English without interpretation facilities. All contributions must be in English.
Venue
The Workshop will take place in the conference room of the Best Western Hotel Kompas, Bled.
