Ecosystem-Based Management (EBM) Tools Network

The Ecosystem-Based Management (EBM) Tools Network is pleased to announce that it will host a demonstration of Public Participation GIS and Values Compatibility Analysis by Greg Brown of Central Washington University and Pat Reed of the USDA Forest Service on Wednesday, October 29, at 2 pm EDT (US & Canada).

Information on registering for the webinar is below. The webinar is open to the public.

We will be using a new audio system for this demonstration. Webinar participants will be able to use their computer speakers/microphone OR a telephone conference call. This new system will allow us to record the webinar audio and video as a single file and will make it easier for international participants to hear the presentation.

The webinar will be enabled an hour prior to the start of the webinar to allow users to test their systems. We would love to hear feedback after the demonstration on how well the new system worked for you.

Join us for the Webinar on October 29!

Time: 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM EDT

Public participation geographic information systems (PPGIS) and values compatibility analysis (VCA) are integrated tools for expanding public involvement in environmental and natural resource planning and decision-making. Over the past 10 years the tools have been tested and replicated at multiple scales - including municipal parklands, state scenic highway systems, coastal area management, counties, and national forests - as well as by land and resource agencies in Australia and Canada.

This webinar will present an overview of the tools and methods by describing their use in data collection and integration into a decision support system. Learn more about PPGIS and VCA at the web site below.

After registering you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the Webinar.

Space is limited.
Reserve your Webinar seat now at:

For those who cannot make the presentation, a recording of this presentation will be made available on the EBM Tools Network website at www.ebmtools.org/presentations.html the day after the presentation.

If you have any other questions about the demonstration, please contact me at sarah_carr@natureserve.org. To sign up for announcements of future EBM tool presentations or demonstrations, sign up for EBM Tools Network updates at the link below.
