ESRI to Resell Océ TCS300 and Océ TCS500

Redlands, California—ESRI reached an agreement with Océ, an international leader in digital document management and delivery solutions, enabling ESRI to become a national reseller of Océ TCS300 large-format color printers and Océ TCS500 color multifunction copy/scan/print systems. This new agreement reinforces Océ and ESRI's business relationship and allows ESRI customers in the United States to procure the Océ TCS line of printers from ESRI.

"Océ is proud to be partnering with ESRI, the leader in GIS [geographic information system] software," said Sal Sheikh, vice president, marketing, Wide Format Printing Systems division of Océ North America. "This agreement enables ESRI customers in the United States to obtain productive large-format color plotters and multifunction systems. With ever more complex and data-rich GIS files, ESRI users can now increase their productivity by easily and quickly plotting their GIS drawings from their desktop to an Océ TCS300 or Océ TCS500 device."

This agreement presents a total business solution for ESRI's customers because they only need to contact one vendor for all their GIS software and hardware needs. This comprehensive offering will streamline business operations by eliminating the need for multivendor purchases while ensuring customers can procure the latest GIS print solutions.

"This announcement underscores both the ESRI and Océ commitment to providing GIS users with the highest-quality products and services available today," said Dean Garner, hardware solutions sales and partner relations manager, ESRI. "Additionally, this presents the opportunity for our customers to purchase a highly productive color print solution from a vendor who intimately understands their specific needs and can recommend the most appropriate system."

The Océ TCS500 large-format multifunction system harnesses the power of concurrent processing, printing, copying, and scanning to make it a productive large-format color GIS inkjet print system. Highly intuitive, the system automatically optimizes print speed and quality when printing lines, text, and images. Furthermore, the Océ TCS500 promotes ease of use with its ability to support multiple rolls and change media or ink while printing.

Using the same core technologies as the Océ TCS500, the cost-effective Océ TCS300 combines the power of quick, concurrent file processing with superior print speed. The Océ TCS300 represents a strong solution for GIS users who need to produce large-format color and monochrome prints.

As part of this arrangement, ESRI customers in the United States can take advantage of Océ's best-in-class service and support. After purchase, Océ will provide a service technician for on-site installation.

This Month's Burning Issue...
Each month we select a hot topic and a leading figure in the industry to write about it.
This month's burning issue:

What message are we sending to senior level decision makers about the importance and value of Spatial Data Infrastructure - SDI - if we keep misrepresenting what SDI is or is all about?

In previous editorials in this magazine I have touched on various SDI issues, especially now that the pan-European SDI has achieved a legally mandated status within the European Union's 27 Member States. Yet I fear that the Geographic Information community - or communities, for there are many - continue to… More…
