ESRI Includes MapIt in U.S. Federal ELA Package

Redlands, California — December 1, 2009 — U.S. federal enterprise license agreement (ELA) customers now have a mapping tool to turn data into valuable business intelligence. ESRI's MapIt combines software with online services to create vibrant, interactive maps using business data typically viewed in spreadsheets and tables. It provides access to the vast ArcGIS Online and Bing Maps collection of basemap, imagery, routing, and geocoding services, giving users the ability to customize maps without the need to install or maintain additional software.

The U.S. federal ELA provides unlimited amounts of ESRI ArcGIS software to government departments, agencies, or entire organizations. MapIt complements the ELA software package by giving every department an easy-to-use tool to increase business intelligence. It enables organizations to leverage their existing Microsoft infrastructure and developers' skills to create informative maps that can be displayed through Silverlight and SharePoint applications.

"Including MapIt with the U.S. federal ELA translates into extended mapping capabilities to all users throughout an organization," says Jeff Peters, Washington D.C. and Federal Programs director for ESRI. "The software plus online services model correlates with federal initiatives to leverage technologies that reduce overhead, manage costs, and streamline development."
