ERDAS Corporate Partner at Map World Forum

Norcross, GA — ERDAS announces that it is a Corporate Partner at Map World Forum, February 10-13, 2009 at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC) in Hyderabad, India. ERDAS and GIS Development are co-hosting a seminar on Spatial Data Infrastructure (SDI). Martin Nix from Hexagon will be a Plenary Speaker. Brad Skelton, CTO at ERDAS will also be a keynote speaker at the Developers Forum.

Exhibiting in booths 9 & 10, ERDAS is showcasing ERDAS APOLLO, an Open Geospatial Consortium and International Organization for Standardization (OGC/ISO) compliant enterprise solution for spatial data management, image serving and web mapping. ERDAS APOLLO eliminates the walls between GIS, photogrammetry and remote sensing, extending geospatial data to applications throughout an organization. ERDAS APOLLO solves the business problems associated with managing and serving large volumes of geospatial data located and distributed across an organization. ERDAS APOLLO simplifies the utilization of vector, raster and terrain data. Supporting numerous geospatial data formats, ERDAS APOLLO seamlessly integrates with existing GIS & database environments and business applications. ERDAS APOLLO leverages existing business systems, including the Oracle database for persisting intelligent metadata and application specific information.

In addition, ERDAS will also be showcasing the latest versions of ERDAS IMAGINE®, LPS and ERDAS TITAN. ERDAS IMAGINE and LPS are the industry’s leading and most complete collection of software tools designed to manipulate, process and understand imagery and streamline numerous photogrammetry processes. ERDAS TITAN is a geospatial data sharing infrastructure that enables users to publish their “top drawer” data to anyone across the network, without shipping gigabytes of data in a bandwidth intensive manner.

“We are excited to participate in this conference, bringing together industry leaders throughout the world,” said Kaushik Chakraborty, Vice President, Asia Pacific, ERDAS. “ERDAS supports sustainability, providing solutions that understand and harness the information of the changing Earth for greater advantage. Our desktop and enterprise solutions transform geospatial data into information vital for decision-making processes.”

Map World Forum aims to “Converge Ideas and Expand Horizons for Sustainable Planet Earth.” Its mission is to encourage the geospatial community to work together to protect the natural environment to provide for the needs of present and future generations.
