Diamond Airborne Sensing recently received certification for the DA42 MPP in surveillance and laser scanning configuration for Russia.
The DA42 MPP is able to carry daylight and thermal cameras, and is linked to ground stations with satcom and/or line of sight downlink systems. Survey equipment, such as LIDAR or hyperspectral scanners and digital cameras, can be carried in the belly pod underneath the fuselage.
The Airborne Sensing segment is gaining more and more acceptance within the Diamond Aircraft group. Both, the surveillance as well as in the geodetic market are emerging. Diamond Airborne Sensing expects to double sales figures from 17 in 2008 to 35 aircraft in 2009.

Adopting Cloud computing can save money, but good governance is essential to manage the risk argues Mike Small
