Camptocamp release Spatial Data Integrator 1.3.0

Camptocamp announced the release of version 1.3.0 of SDI (Spatial Data Integrator), an Open Source Spatial ETL (Extract Transform & Load). SDI, developed by Camptocamp, is based on Talend Open Studio, the Open Source data integration software, for read/write common GIS formats, manipulating spatial features, metadata creation and publication.

Camptocamp succeeded with this new version of SDI in developing a true middleware, i.e. a computer software that connects Open Source software components or applications, and most specifically those supported by OSGeo. Version 1.3 integrates uDig GIS desktop user interface and offers new RASTER data processing through the integration of SEXTANTE library's algorithms.

The developments are available for consultation at the web site below.

Among the improvements:

Automatic determination of geographic formats structure (schema)
Integration of uDig (SIG desktop Open Source) to display data
Update to Geotools library (2.5)
Migration toward 2.4.1 version of Talend Open Studio
Addition of the Geometry type

Creation of 8 new components:

sWfsInput : WFS support
sGpxInput / sGpxOuput : GPX support
sSimplify : uses DouglasPeuckerSimplifier and TopologyPreservingSimplifier algorithms to
simplify geometries
sSimpleGeomToMulti : converts simple geometry (Point, Linestring, Polygon) to collection
(MultiPoint, Multilinestring, Multipolygon)
sChangeLineDirection : reverse linestrings
sTransform : compute affine transformations (translation, rotation and scaling)
Possibility to add RASTER image processing algorithms via the integration of the SEXTANTE
library, available on the R&D section on the SDI's website
