Wayland, MA, September 10, 2008. The Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC(R)) joins GIS Development Pvt Ltd (India) in a Call for
Sponsorship and Participation in the Delhi Transit Routing Interoperability Pilot (D-TRIP).
This is an OGC Interoperability Initiative to advance OGC's open framework for geospatial data and systems interoperability and sharing in the context of transportation circulation for the 2010 CommonwealthGames in Delhi, India.
The Pilot will demonstrate best practices and standards enabling interoperability among diverse information resources used for
transportation routing. The routing problems will focus on India's National Capital Region and will involve interacting networks that
differ in scale (nation, state, region, local), built environment (urban, suburban, rural), and purpose (passenger, freight). Sponsors are invited to support the Pilot and provide requirements.
Participants are invited to propose products and services whose open interfaces will make them part of an interoperating collection of
geospatial resources for design and management of such multimodal networks.
If your organization is interested in this initiative, contact Raj Singh (rsingh@opengeospatial.org, +1 617-642-9372) or Sumit Sen (sumit.sen@gisdevelopment.net, +91 9818447204).
OGC Interoperability Initiatives are part of OGC's Interoperability Program, a global, hands-on collaborative prototyping program designed to rapidly develop, test and deliver proven candidate standards into OGC's Specification Program, where they are formalized for public release.
