Cadcorp launches interface to Civica APP

Stevenage, Herts. 30th September 2009 – Digital mapping and geographic information systems (GIS) software developer Cadcorp has announced the launch of an interface to the Civica APP system.

Based on Cadcorp GeognoSIS, the solution allows APP users access to advanced GIS functionality through a simple map interface. Staff will be able to quickly and easily plot points associated with an APP record onto a map overlay; locate, view and update APP records on a map; and generate consultee letters based on user defined areas on the map. The interface also enables records selected from the APP report generators to be viewed on the map, for example to detect hotspots of activity. Civica APP users will be able to quickly and easily integrate their data with any of the wide variety of map data formats that are supported by Cadcorp GeognoSIS, and to output the map view to pdf. Data can be then be viewed, analysed and printed using the comprehensive facilities available as standard with the system.

Colin Wales, Sales Director of Civica Public Protection and Regeneration said “We are seeing more and more Local Authority customers taking advantage of GIS interfaces for their day to day activities and for subsequent reporting and analysis. The new Cadcorp interface is a welcome addition to functionality and we hope that customer sites will look to take immediate advantage of what it can offer.”

Mike O’Neil, managing director, Cadcorp said, “We have developed the GeognoSIS interface to Civica APP to provide joint customers with a simple and effective means of visualising and analysing data stored in the APP system. Cadcorp continues to provide its customers with GIS links to third party applications”.
