The proceedings of our annual conference - COMPASS09 - are now available from www.compass.ie. Over 150 people from a diverse range of organisations came to COMPASS09 at the Alexander Hotel, Dublin, on Thursday June 25th. We hope that more will get value from the event via the on-line presentations.

INSPIRE Master Classes provide guidance on the what, when and how of the Directive.
Following two recent INSPIRE Master Classes, we are now taking reservations for upcoming classes in September & October - with classes in August by request.
The EU INSPIRE Directive places obligations on all public bodies creating spatial data. Our Master Classes deal with the questions - What is required of me? When? And how do I do it? These are practical workshops allowing discussion of the particular concerns of those attending.
Upcoming scheduled classes include 25th September (Limerick) and 8-9th October (Dublin). The October class will include the standard one day class with another day providing details of aspects of data transformations, latest data specifications, and technical aspects of web services development. Days can be attended separately or together. Classes are also being scheduled for Belgium and the UK.

The National Biodiversity Data Centre's 3rd Annual Recorders' Event is titled "Ireland's Freshwater Habitats - priorities for biodiversity data" and will be held on Thursday 20th & Friday 21st August 2009. The National Biodiversity Data Centre is Ireland's hub for biodiversity data and is operated by Compass Informatics on behalf of the Heritage Council, Ireland.
