Gardiner, Maine – September 3, 2010 - Blue Marble Geographics is pleased to announce two live demonstrations of the expanded GPS tracking capabilities in MapInfo Professional 10.5 via the free Geographic Tracker plug in that ships with MI Pro. The sessions will be hosted on Thursday September 23, 2010 at 9 am EDT and 2 pm EDT in collaboration with Pitney Bowes Business Insight.

Register for this free informational Webinar at the link below. Blue Marble’s geospatial data manipulation and conversion solutions are used worldwide by thousands of GIS analysts at software companies, universities, oil and gas companies, civil engineering, surveying, technology, enterprise GIS groups, government and military organizations.

Join the Blue Marble and PBBI MapInfo teams as they review the expanded GPS Tracking capabilities released with MapInfo Professional 10.5. The Geographic Tracker is a GPS application that supports streaming of live GPS position data, playbacks of recorded GPS log files, and transfer of spatial data both to and from various GPS units. This application ships as a separate install with every copy of MapInfo Professional. The newly enhanced interface allows MapInfo users to easily coordinate Geographic Tracker with MapInfo Professional and includes expanded and updated support for Garmin and other GPS devices. Features to be demonstrated will include: creating multiple GPS unit profiles, tracking them, and not only receiving points, lines and polylines from the units but also sending data to them. Upcoming releases of the Tracker will include GeoRSS support for services such as Twitter, a Smartphone application, attribute and position data transfer via wireless remote units, and enhanced support for Magellan GPS units. Don't miss this great overview by Blue Marble staff on how you can enhance your GPS data workflow in MapInfo Professional 10.5.
