1Spatial is delighted to announce Blue Marble Geographics, from Maine, USA, as a Bronze Sponsor of their 2008 Conference: ‘1 Source of Truth’, being held from 29th April to 1st May at the Radisson SAS Hotel, Stansted Airport, UK.

Known to the world as the source for exceptional geospatial software solutions, Blue Marble Geographics is a leading developer and provider of reliable, accurate, and powerful data manipulation and conversion solutions for both the desktop user and software developer.
With Oracle, Autodesk, Infotech, eSpatial, Informatica and Salford GIS also confirmed as sponsors, the Conference is set to deliver a comprehensive learning package for everyone working with spatial data, from expert Practitioners, through to Programmers and Chief Executive Officers. Focused discussions and presentations will assist you in achieving more effective and efficient use of spatial data throughout your organisation, or for any activity involved in integrating spatial data and building Spatial Data Infrastructures (SDIs). There will also be a number of workshops running throughout the conference including the HP sponsored Usability Lab where companies, including Blue Marble, will be encouraging delegates to come and test-drive their cutting-edge spatial software.
"1Spatial understands the importance of reliable, high quality geospatial data," stated Blue Marble President Patrick Cunningham "We are excited to be a part of a conference focused on those challenges."

Steven Ramage, Business Development Director for 1Spatial added:

“1Spatial are pleased to welcome Blue Marble Geographics as sponsors of the 2008 Conference. As partners on the Open Geospatial Consortium’s Data Quality Working Group we are both committed to the accessibility and sharing of high quality data to improve analysis and decision making, and Blue Marble’s support of our Conference further demonstrates this commitment.”

This Month's Burning Issue...
Each month we select a hot topic and a leading figure in the industry to write about it.
This month's burning issue:

What message are we sending to senior level decision makers about the importance and value of Spatial Data Infrastructure - SDI - if we keep misrepresenting what SDI is or is all about?

In previous editorials in this magazine I have touched on various SDI issues, especially now that the pan-European SDI has achieved a legally mandated status within the European Union's 27 Member States. Yet I fear that the Geographic Information community - or communities, for there are many - continue to… More…
