Gardiner, Maine – January 25, 2008 – With the release of Geographic Calculator 7.0.1, Blue Marble Geographics announces the addition of USB Dongle keys to the suite of available licensing options. These USB keys allow users to leverage the power of the Geographic Calculator anywhere in the world, at any time. Simply insert the hardware key into the USB port of a desktop or laptop workstation, and start using the software immediately. Users are able to move their license at will, without the need for a network server or technical licensing support. Blue Marble’s coordinate conversion technology is used worldwide by thousands of GIS analysts at software companies, universities, oil and gas companies, civil engineering, surveying, technology, enterprise GIS groups, government and military organizations.
Other enhancements to Geographic Calculator 7.0.1 include Irish Grid polynomial datum shift support to match OSi Inspire parameters, direct velocity file support by way of the Geographic Calculator’s Map File Conversion tab, allowing users with large files containing thousands of records to convert them in just minutes. Updated printing and reporting features for the interactive tab now show the datum shift that was used in the conversion.
Blue Marble Director of Sales, Kris Berglund, states, “This was a decision we made after talking to our end-users. Some of them cannot easily access a wide area network, due to the nature of their job, or their location on the globe. We feel this license option proves to them that we’ve been listening.”
