Blue Marble Feature Raster Transformation Support

Gardiner, Maine – March 6, 2009 - Blue Marble Geographics is pleased to announce they will be exhibiting at the American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing Conference in Baltimore, MD March 8th through March 13th. Come and visit booth 112 to learn why Blue Marble’s raster, vector and coordinate transformation technology is used worldwide by thousands of GIS analysts at software, oil and gas, civil engineering, surveying, and technology companies, enterprise GIS groups, universities, government and military organizations.

In the past year Blue Marble released the Blue Marble Desktop as a platform for delivery of its geospatial data conversion solutions. The Desktop helps manage geospatial data quality by providing a powerful all-in-one geodetic definition, coordinate transformation and raster/vector reprojection solution. The Blue Marble Desktop is driven by a common, comprehensive geodetic data source, GeoCalc.XML the largest commercially available coordinate transformation library. It includes many new administrative and workflow tools to assist users with streamlining their data transformation processes while ensuring accuracy and data quality. The new project manager allows GIS professionals to construct a variety of geospatial conversion workspaces and share them with other users, improving efficiency and reducing errors.

Additionally the Blue Marble Desktop features the completely revamped Geographic Transformer 6.0. The Transformer contains some of the most powerful raster transformation tools available at a very reasonable price point. This tool supports a fifth-order polynomial transformation model, for true warping and accurate reprojection of raster data. Transformer also supports display and editing of all major raster formats including popular compression formats like MrSID, ECW, and JPEG 2000. The latest version also features new interfaces for improved ease of use along with powerful batch capabilities and enhanced memory handling.

Blue Marble also recently released a new version of the software developer toolkit, GeoTransform 6.0, for raster data manipulation and transformation. This C++, cross platform toolkit works seamlessly with other Blue Marble developer tools like GeoCalc and GeoTranslate giving developers the ability to quickly embed advanced raster referencing, reprojecting, mosaicking and tiling quickly and easily.
