Blue Marble Applied Geodesy Training

Gardiner, Maine – June 4, 2010 - Blue Marble Geographics is pleased to announce upcoming Applied Geodesy training sessions for both Geographic Calculator and Geographic Transformer products on July 15th and 16th, 2010, at the conclusion of the ESRI User Conference in San Diego, CA. These daylong sessions are in-depth training courses based on these two powerful data conversion applications. Each course features education on the fundamentals of geodesy and mapping, which is useful both as an introduction for the novice, and as a refresher for the expert geodesist. In fact, many people choose to attend these courses for the geodesy training alone. Here is a chance not only to learn the foundations of geodesy and mapping concepts, but also to learn how to harness the power of Blue Marble software. Blue Marble’s geospatial data manipulation and conversion solutions are used worldwide by thousands of GIS analysts at software companies, universities, oil and gas companies, civil engineering, surveying, technology, enterprise GIS groups, government and military organizations.

The Geographic Calculator feature of the Blue Marble Desktop showcases two extensions to ArcGIS that enhance and expand the geodetic manipulation tools of ArcGIS. Users can now work with the Geographic Calculator ESRI Extension in the Arc Tool Box or ArcMap. The new Arc Tool Box features read and write support for ESRI Personal and Arc SDE Databases. The Spatial Connect Module 7.3 is an add-on module available through the Blue Marble Desktop 2.1, giving Calculator users the ability to read and write to ESRI Geodatabase, ArcSDE, and Personal and File Geodatabases along with Oracle Spatial and PostGIS native spatial database objects. Users are encouraged to bring their own data with which to explore the features and functions of the software, including interactive conversions, point database conversions, vector data conversions, and custom coordinate systems. Learn how to read, understand, properly reference and reproject raster data, from simple to complex conversions. Also, learn how to mosaic and tile out imagery, and work through batch processes.

Don’t be left out - space fills up fast! For further details, please call Blue Marble at (800) 616-2725, or send an email to training@bluemarblegeo.com and reserve your spot today. Blue Marble also offers on-site sessions that can be conveniently planned to fit your schedule.
