Blom agreement with publishing company in Spain

Blom has signed a contract with Grupo Santillana for use of Blom’s unique aerial imagery in text and learning books, using Blom’s geo server, BlomURBEX, as management and delivery tool.

Blom, the leading European company within geographic information, has signed an agreement with Grupo Santillana, the most important education and training publisher in Spain and Portugal. The objective is to enable access to the whole Blom’s high resolution imagery database through the company’s geographic server BlomURBEX, providing a centralized solution to select, manage and download Blom’s content to be published in the textbooks.

BlomURBEX tool will provide immediate access to the whole Blom’s image library as well as a delivery system fully integrated with Santillana’s GIS tool. The contract is extended to Spain, Portugal and Latin America and means an easy access to a wide high resolution database as well as easy way for collection and delivery of Blom’s mapping content.

“The agreement with Grupo Santillana represents a new user client for Blom’s BlomURBEX delivery platform in Europe”, says Håkon Jacobsen, COO Blom, continuing, “in addition to being an important reference in the publishing industry in Europe”.

Blom’s unique oblique image library will become the most extensive and complete centralized images database for Grupo Santillana’s edition process, increasing text books illustrations possibilities and enhancing its variety and quality. Blom’s database consists of oblique images, based on Pictometry® technology, covering more than 1,100 of the largest cities in Europe.
