London, 3 February 2009 – Blom Aerofilms, the leading provider of aerial surveying and on line imagery solutions, today announced the appointment of Gary Hodkinson as Business Development Manager for BlomURBEX, the online platform that delivers high-resolution oblique and vertical images of towns, cities, and urban areas, for Architects, Urban Planners Consulting Engineers and Property Developers.
Gary will be responsible for developing and supporting Blom’s partner network for BlomURBEX across new markets, as well as customer and market development for all Blom datasets. Previously Channel Manager at Contempus Ltd, Gary brings with him extensive knowledge of channel development as well as a strong technical background encompassing Computer Aided Design (CAD) and image analysis software, both of which will be invaluable in his new role.

Blom Aerofilms Appoints Simon Shuker as Rail Business Development Manager
Blom Aerofilms, the leading provider of aerial photography and digital map solutions, today announced the appointment of Simon Shuker as Business Development Manager for the Rail industry. Simon will build upon Blom’s widespread success and extend Blom’s offerings in the railway industry, bringing the benefits of faster and safer track surveying. Blom is currently undertaking a diverse portfolio, including assisting the planning of new rail links and providing geotechnical assessment and slope stability on existing rail lines.
With over 20 years experience in contracting, consulting and geotechnical engineering Simon is responsible for using his depth of technical expertise to drive Blom’s growth in the rail industry. Prior to joining Blom, Simon was Business Development Director at Foundation Piling Limited, and has gained regional and national recognition with the ICE and The Concrete Society/CONSTRUCT for his contribution to award-winning projects ranging from innovation in structures, technical achievement, costs savings and project logistics.
