A best practice workshop on National Spatial Data Infrastructures (SDIs) is being held in Paris on 1 March. The workshop, hosted by the French Standards body AFNOR, is being organised by the European Committee for Standards for Geographic Information (CEN/TC 287). It will bring together representatives from international standards-making bodies and practitioners involved in implementing SDIs at the national level.
Speakers include Olaf Ostensen, chair of the International Standards Committee for GI, ISO/TC 211, Mark Reichardt, President of the OpenGeospatial Consortium (OGC), and John Herring of Oracle.
CEN/TC 287 aims to build on existing standards to provide a set of standards for application within Europe, within the context of the EU INSPIRE Directive and the need for national SDIs.
The workshop, which is free of charge, will be of interest to people involved in establishing SDIs. Places are limited, and need to be booked at the link below, where full details of the event can be found.
