Be among the first to know that in 2009 we are changing the Be Conference and Be Awards programs.
For many years, Bentley has brought together its users from around the world at our annual Be Conference to learn and share best practices for infrastructure. Now, many of you are telling us that your 2009 travel budgets are tightly restricted due to challenging economic conditions worldwide – yet you still value the unique content that Be Conference provides. In the spirit of Bentley’s corporate mission of Sustaining Infrastructure, our response for 2009 is to bring the content of the Be Conference to the desktops of our users everywhere:
* Be Conference is becoming the “Be Connected” online seminar series.
* Be Awards of Excellence is becoming the “Be Inspired Awards.”
* The Be Communities has become the place for professional networking.
The “Be Connected” online seminar series
The Be Connected online seminar series will offer compelling infrastructure solution best practices and product information on a regular basis from June through November 2009. Several unique Be Connected seminar series will be offered and tailored to specific areas of interest including:
* Transportation
* Building Performance
* Sustaining Water
* Power Generation
* and more…
This content will be available via the Be Communities website, leveraging virtual technology for a more sustainable experience.

The “Be Inspired Awards”
In 2009, we have renamed the Be Awards program the “Be Inspired” Awards to celebrate the inspiration demonstrated in our users’ projects around the world. This September, in Charlotte, North Carolina, Bentley will invite all award category semi finalists to a one-day Be Inspired Awards event, at which the 2009 finalists will present their nominated projects. All of the finalist presentations will be recorded and streamed via the Be Communities website. The winning projects will be selected by an independent jury of design and engineering experts and will be recognized at the awards celebration in the evening.
All of the nominated projects will be published in the 2009 Year in Infrastructure book. To view the 2008 Year in Infrastructure book online as well as earlier editions, please visit the link below.
The deadline for Be Inspired Awards nominations is being extended to May 15, 2009.
