AutoTURN`s swept path features integrated in STRAB

August 21, 2007 - Rotterdam/Vienna/Leipzig - Transoft Solutions (Europe) B.V. and its Austrian partner Ing. Huber Mader GmbH join for a booth at Intergeo 2007 in September. At the joint booth in hall 3/K3.316 clients can inform themselves about latest solutions for infrastructure design and planning.

Focus of the performance at the trade show is AutoTURN, the industry leading program for the simulation of turns and manoeuvres for all kind of vehicles. The CAD-based program aids designers and engineers in the design and planning of roadways, intersections, roundabouts, parking garages, bus terminals, distribution facilities, logistic centres or any other site involving vehicle access checks. At Intergeo 07 the product is presented in a completely new shape. The two CAD developers Transoft Solutions and Ing. Hubert Mader GmbH are not only associated by a sales partnership. This year in a conjoint project, the two companies integrated parts of the functionality of the AutoTURN into the program STRAB of Ing. Hubert Mader GmbH. Features of the swept path analysis tool are now available as Original-Equipment-Manufacturer OEM software within tools of STRAB. The new tool’s name is “STRAB Schleppkurven II“ (Eng.: STRAB swept paths II).

STRAB clients do not have to decide between different programs, but can combine modules for road design in STRAB with swept path features of AutoTURN.

Ing. Huber Mader GmbH can now concentrate in other competencies, like further development of STRAB (AutoCAD application for traffic, railroad and canalization construction) and Visual Reality VR. VR tools allow users to generate visualization of his projects involving photographs and aerial views. The result is a photo realistic presentation of his project, which is easily and convincing when presenting to clients and constructors. Ing. Huber Mader GmbH can also be found at Autodesk partner stand in hall 3/I3.102.

Transoft Solutions also shows the latest version of its software ParkCAD 3.0. ParkCAD is the world’s first CAD-based parking facility design software specifically created for the transportation design professional to quickly design conceptual parking layouts. Version 3.0 allows exclusion of areas within the parking lot where parking should not be possible and real time reporting on quantities and costs. The user achieves maximum parking capacity in the available space while ensuring convenience and requirements.

Free trial versions of the software programs are available at each company’s website.

This Month's Burning Issue...
Each month we select a hot topic and a leading figure in the industry to write about it.
This month's burning issue:

What message are we sending to senior level decision makers about the importance and value of Spatial Data Infrastructure - SDI - if we keep misrepresenting what SDI is or is all about?

In previous editorials in this magazine I have touched on various SDI issues, especially now that the pan-European SDI has achieved a legally mandated status within the European Union's 27 Member States. Yet I fear that the Geographic Information community - or communities, for there are many - continue to… More…
