An Tánaiste 150 New Jobs for Dublin from Bentley

DUBLIN, Ireland, Wednesday, November 18th, 2009, An Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade, and Employment, Mary Coughlan, TD, today announced the commitment by Bentley Systems, Incorporated, the leading company dedicated to providing comprehensive software solutions for the infrastructure that sustains our world, to establish an international Shared Services, Sales and Marketing Centre in Dublin, Ireland. The new centre will result in the creation of as many as 150 high-quality jobs. The investment was facilitated by the Irish government through IDA Ireland. Bentley Systems CEO Greg Bentley was present during the announcement to express his appreciation to the Irish government and confidence in the value the new offices will provide to the company and its users, as well as to personally meet Bentley’s new colleagues in Ireland.

In its new Dublin offices, Bentley is currently recruiting multilingual finance and administrative personnel, sales and marketing professionals, technical support engineers, and product release engineers with software industry experience. The offices will be located at Dublin’s Harcourt Street.

Tánaiste Mary Coughlan said, “On behalf of the Irish government, I welcome the decision by Bentley to establish its Shared Services, Sales and Marketing Centre here in Dublin. Bentley is one of the leading global suppliers of software to the architecture, engineering, construction and geospatial sector and is a significant addition to Ireland’s information and communications technology (ICT) portfolio of investors. It is testament to the strength of the ICT sector in Ireland that Bentley chose Dublin as the location for this investment, and the government looks forward to assisting Bentley in the development of its Irish operations into the future.”

Bentley Chief Financial Officer David Hollister commented, “Our decision to locate Bentley offices in Dublin was based on Ireland’s highly talented pool of multilingual professionals encompassing all of the key skill sets that we require for our international operations. Moreover, Bentley is an innovative company, and the culture of innovation that exists in Ireland assured us that we would benefit greatly by locating offices here.”

Hollister continued, “Bentley is committed to delivering outstanding service to our users and having an Irish-based centre will not only help us achieve that goal, but also improve efficiencies within our finance, sales and marketing, and technical support operations. Without question, our offices in Dublin will be of strategic importance in helping Bentley fulfil its mission of sustaining infrastructure within the global context.”

Bentley software is widely used by architects, engineers, constructors, and owner-operators globally, as well as by the next generation of infrastructure professionals currently attending Ireland’s institutions of higher learning. Among current subscribers to Bentley’s Be Careers Network Academic SELECT portfolio of software are University College Cork, Cork Institute of Technology, Athlone Institute of Technology, Dublin Institute of Technology, and National University of Ireland-Maynooth.
