AED-SICAD Customers honored by ESRI

Four AED-SICAD Customers honored by ESRI Inc:
“Special Achievement in GIS”
Award Presented by Jack Dangermond

Each year, ESRI Inc honors users who do a particular effort in the advancement of GIS technology: The winning organizations received this honor for their vision, leadership, hard work, and innovative use of ESRI's Geographic Information System (GIS) technology. Recipients of the Special Achievement in GIS (SAG) award are submitted by ESRI staff from thousands of organizations worldwide, then personally reviewed and selected by Jack Dangermond. The awards were given during this year’s ESRI International User Conference in San Diego, July 12 – 16, 2010.

EnBW Regional AG, Germany

EnBW, the third largest energy distribution company in Germany, has received the SAG award for the implementation of the ArcFM UT product suite throughout the complete enterprise. Literally dozens of different data sets in different data formats were joined and unified under one common data model in one common database to serve all the different regional EnBW GIS offices. EnBW mostly serves the area of Baden Württemberg, with 10 Mio inhabitants one of the larger German states.

ENELVEN, Venezuela

ENELVEN, the electricity distribution company in Maracaibo, Northern Venezuela, is a dynamically evolving utility. They received the SAG award for their remarkable work done by the efficient and highly competent GIS team at ENELVEN. They implemented their utility solution in a highly integrated way to establish a modern and future-proof GIS-based asset management system to fulfill already tomorrow’s needs.

FEWA (Federal Electricity & Water Authority), UAE

FEWA is AED-SICAD’s first customer in the United Emirates (UAE) and also the first ArcFM UT customer in the UAE to receive the SAG award. Based on ArcFM UT (Electricity and Water) FEWA has implemented a sophisticated and very advanced GIS centric solution for the support of their day-to-day business processes and operations. The GIS now helps them in concrete problems like “Find old and repaired utility assets and replace them with new ones”, emergency operations or extensive report generation and map printing to name a few out of a long list of problems solved.

UETCL (Uganda Electricity Transmission Company), Uganda

UETCL is also the first African AED-SICAD customer to receive the SAG award. They have established an Asset Management System based on ArcFM UT to map their existing transmission grid including the full topology, which was documented before only on paper maps. Thus they solved their concrete business problems of establishing an comprehensive, database-centric GIS asset management solution.

AED-SICAD congratulates all these customer to this success and to the excellent work which they have performed.
