Aurora, Colo., Feb. 11, 2009 — The Geospatial Information & Technology Association (GITA) announced that the Call for Papers is now open for its 18th Annual GIS for Oil & Gas Conference, and the submission deadline is April 6, 2009. The conference is set
for Sept. 13-17, 2009, in Houston, Texas.
With the theme Realize Your Geospatial Potential, the 2009 GIS for Oil & Gas Conference Committee is looking for presentations that will help oil/gas/pipeline professionals get the most out of their technology.
The conference is the largest event of its kind, and the exhibit hall for the event is already almost 85% sold with just over seven months to show start. The exhibit floor can be viewed at http://gita.org/events/oil_gas/09/floor.asp. This event has seen consistent record attendance, going from more than 550 attendees in 2003 to 780 attendees at the 2007 event. The 2008 event was canceled due to Hurricane Ike.
The broad topics of the Call for Papers are designed to let presenters customize their papers even more than before. The five topics are:
· Business Process Integration
· Corridor Management
· Emergency Response/Damage Prevention
· New and Evolving Technology
· Regulatory Compliance, Inspection and Maintenance and Integrity Management
The abstract Call for Papers page with a link to the submission form is located at the link below.
