1Spatial to present at GIS Ireland 2009

Whether you are involved in Local Government, Central Government or a Utility organisation, or even if you are a citizen using a paper map or a personal navigation device, you are part of the geospatial data supply chain in Ireland.

As a company with a longstanding history of involvement in the Irish Market, 1Spatial is pleased to announce their participation at the annual IRLOGI flagship event. This event takes place at the Guinness Storehouse in Dublin on 14th October and Steven Ramage, 1Spatial's Director of Business Development, will be delivering a presentation entitled "Don't Waste a Crisis" in the Vendor Stream.

In the context of the geospatial data supply chain, the presentation will outline the role of Spatial Data Infrastructures and, notably, how INSPIRE can improve your data management planning and eventually your day-to-day business activities. It will look at how enhanced operational efficiencies can be achieved by improving data access and sharing across organisations, in line with INSPIRE principles.

The presentation will outline how to make effective use of limited financial and other resources by:

* Automating procedures using rules-based processes and data ‘as is’, for example mapping data to INSPIRE schemas without changing the underlying data model

* Carrying out automated internal data quality audits and checks to ensure compliance with INSPIRE data specifications

* Improving Service Level Agreements for data exchange so that realistic expectations are consistently achieved across the supply chain

We aim to highlight how improved data analysis can shape more cost effective policy making by certifying and measuring data quality against:

* Internal business rules or data specifications

* Implicit and explicit rules found in public policy, such as INSPIRE
