Karlsruhe, Germany. August 23, 2007. Now it is official: MAP&GUIDE GmbH and its parent company PTV Planung Transport Verkehr AG have merged. Both companies are located in Karlsruhe, Germany. PTV, one of the largest technology providers for travel, transportation and traffic planning worldwide, will assume the legal succession of MAP&GUIDE and thus all its contracts, including the employment contracts.
The two companies have already been working in joint operation since March 2007. Now all the necessary legal steps have been taken - the merger was published in the Commercial Registry on August 20, 2007. A 7,500 m² extension of the company's headquarters building in Karlsruhe is currently under construction. From autumn 2008 onwards, all employees will be working under one roof.
The know-how of the two companies will be bundled into one enterprise. Clients will benefit from PTV's expanded portfolio that combines map&guide standard products and PTV solutions. An increased wealth of knowledge and skills will provide customers with enhanced transport logistics and mobility applications and even greater certainty in the future.
"With our new market position, we can provide a complete portfolio of solutions for travel planning, navigation and the optimisation of transport logistics", explains Dr.-Ing. Hans Hubschneider, spokesman for the PTV AG board. "As an industry pioneer, PTV has many years of experience and expertise in these markets and we will continue to invest in new technologies. In our business field "Traffic", we also focus on software solutions and consulting services that range from transportation planning to traffic management."
