“Earth from Space – the Most Effective Solution"

On December 1-3, 2009 the 4th International Conference “Earth from Space – the Most Effective Solutions”, which established a reputation as the largest on the post-Soviet territory in sphere of Earth remote sensing, will be held in the Moscow Region “Vatutinki” recreation center of the Russian President Administration.

The following reports will be delivered at the plenary session, opening the Conference on the 1st of December:

– "Perspectives of the Russian Orbital Fleet of RS Satellites", Anatoly Shilov, Deputy Director of Federal Space Agency, Moscow, Russia;
– "Earth Remote Sensing Data Role when Estimating Russian Forests Condition", Vladimir Arkhipov, General Director, “Roslesinforg”, Moscow, Russia;
– "Activities of the Center of Geodesy and Cartography in Sphere of Remote Sensing", Ovsep Petrosyan, Executive Director of State Non-financial Organization “Center of Geodesy and Cartography”, Erevan, Armenia;
– "Remote Sensing for Sustainable Development in Azerbaijan. Development Trends and Perspectives", Khosyat Ismatova, Department Head, National Aerospace Agency of Azerbaijan, National Academy of Aviation, Ph.D. candidate (Physics\Math.), assistant professor, Baku, Azerbaijan;
– "ScanEx RDC: 20 years & 2", Vladimir Gershenzon, General Director of ScanEx RDC, Moscow, Russia;
– "Notes on Earth Observation Activities in Poland", Witold Fedorowicz-Jackowski, CEO of Geosystems Polska Ltd., Warsaw, Poland; Katarzyna Dabrowska-Zielinska, Head of Remote Sensing Centre of the Institute of Geodesy and Cartography, Warsaw, Poland.

Also other plenary sessions will take place on December 1, such as: “Region Management” and “Programs of Earth Observation from Space”. Operators of satellite programs - ImageSat International, GeoEye, Antrix Corp.Ltd, e-GEOS, Hitachi Software Engineering Co. Ltd, Infoterra GmbH, Spot Image S.A and others will take the floor on the latter. Full version of the program is available on the conference web-site.

Over 460 applications have been submitted for participation at the 4th International Conference “Earth from Space – the Most Effective Solutions” from Russia and 32 world countries. The conference will be participated by the representatives of governmental agencies (Russian Federal Space Agency, Ministry of Natural Resources, Emercom, Ministry of Transportation, regional and municipal administrations, FSUE “Atomflot”, National Aerospace Agency of Azerbaijan, National Academy of Aviation, Main Geophysical Observatory after Voyeykov), commercial organizations (OAO Surgutneftegaz, Yandex company, ZA “Tranzas”, JSC “Gazprom Space Systems”, OAO “Gazprom Neft”, OOO “Geonavigator”, etc.), non-profit organizations (WWF, IUCN, Center for Problems of Ecology and Productivity of Forests, NGO Transparent World), educational and scientific organizations (MSU, Tver, Perm, Tula, Belgorod, Belarus State Universities, Southern Federal University, RAS Institute of Forest Science, RAS Institute of Space Research, Bauman State Technical University, Estonian University of Life Sciences, Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (Australia), University of Yamanashi (Japan), Warsaw University of Life Sciences (Poland), Helsinki University (Finland), etc.). December 1-3 – Exhibition of the technology and services in sphere of remote sensing (free access!),

December 1 – Meeting of the “Earth from Space” association founders,
December 1-2 – Workshops and master-class of ScanEx RDC on RS data processing,
December 2 – Master-classes of world RS Operators: GeoEye, e-Geos, Infoterra,
December 3 –“Web & GIS” mini-conference.

On December 2 at 19:00 there will be a gala dinner in the Vatutinki restaurant, dedicated to the 20th anniversary of ScanEx company.

Acceptance of application forms and registration of the conference participants are still on-going. Applicants shall fill in the registration form.
