A free seminar programme designed to promote the effective use and management of geographic information by the UK’s Emergency Services continues with a new date on the calendar. The latest event will take place at Warwick Castle on the 05 March 2010 and is open to delegates from any of the UK Emergency Service organisations or the Local Government community. Sponsored by spatial technology company GGP Systems the one day seminar will focus on the development of the National Land and Property Gazetteer (NLPG) and it’s adoption by UK emergency services; featuring real world projects highlighting the benefits and pitfalls of using gazetteer data for a variety of applications including Command and Control, shared services and preparation for the FiReControl project, and showcasing the latest innovative software.
The Addressing Issues seminar will feature an update on the development of the NLPG from addressing specialists Intelligent Addressing and award winning local government custodians Tandridge Council together with a series of case studies from organisations, such as Cambridge Fire and Rescue, who have already implemented the data and are using it on a day-to-day basis to gain service improvements and operational efficiencies across their organisation. Attendees can also get hands on experience of gazetteer and geographic information software specifically developed for the Emergency Services.
The seminar will take place on 05 March 2010 at Warwick Castle and further dates and venues will be announced soon. “These are important events providing delegates with an update on the national addressing programme, an understanding of how this data can be applied to improve frontline services and boost efficiency and the opportunity to network with their peers in a relaxed yet focussed environment,” commented Jonathan Bunn of event sponsors GGP Systems. “Addressing Issues is free to attend and is open to personnel from any of the blue light services.”
Delegates attending the Addressing Issues seminars will also have the opportunity to explore Warwick Castle including towers, ramparts, knights, princesses, jousting, and spectacular birds of prey. Sitiuated at Junction 15 on theM40 Warwick Castle immerses visitors in castle life throughout the ages, from the murky middle ages and the gorgeous Georgians right through to what life was like at the castle in Victorian times.
