CSSP International Workshop The CANEUS Shared Small Satellites CSSP (Collective Security, Safety, and Prosperity) International Workshop is the forum dedicated to fostering Global collaboration to create a concept for space-based communications infrastructure owned and operated by a multi-national cooperative. The workshop will develop concepts, timelines and a budget estimate for a low-cost, internationally shared small satellite communications backbone in space with exceptionally low barriers to entry for participating nations. The Proposed CSSP Program complements existing programs, increases their range and adds new functionality to them providing: space based persistent AIS access for ships and data extraction for global, continuous situational awareness in open sea and shallow waters in support of security, safety and environment protection. The event will be hosted by CANEUS International, the NATO Undersea Research Centre (NURC), Office of Naval Research global (ONRG) and Italian Space Agency (ASI)

GIS for National Security, Defence & Emergency Management ConferenceGeospatial information systems are at the heart of modern military, civil defence and emergency management services. They enable extensive analysis and support critical decision making by providing the right information to the right place at the right time.
Despite their massive potential, geospatial information systems tend to generaly be under utilised in the region. This is mainly because of the sheer complexity and volume of the data and the lack of trained professionals needed to operate them. Furthermore, not all data captured is effectively utilised into the system, which could tremendously increase its purpose and usability. GIS systems provide tremendous opportunity for greater capabilities if these key issues are properly addressed.
