12th AGILE International Conference on Geographic Information Science - Advances in GIScience
The Association of Geographic Information Laboratories for Europe (AGILE) was established in early 1998 to promote academic teaching and research on GIS at the European level. Each year an international conference is organized providing a carefully reviewed scientific program, panel discussions and different workshops covering specific subjects of special interest within the GI community. High performance mining is a synonym for increased efficiency, increased productivity and higher production rates in raw materials extraction. These became the deciding factors in determining the economic success of a mining operation. The global trend in underground mining operations is towards ever increasing productivity. The important factors affecting productivity are: Automation, Communication, Infrastructure The focal point will therefore be the continuous development of technologies aimed at improving performance and productivity. The symposium continues to provide a platform for knowledge exchange between international representatives of mining, tunnelling, suppliers, authorities and research.
