Geospatial Soutions Conference 2011
Since last year's event, we have overhauled the entire conference – the program, the presenters, the networking opportunities – everything. We will explore the integration of existing infrastructures using geospatial technology in order to maximize efficiencies and extend the life of these valuable assets. This is the only event that will deal with the impacts of decisions across electric, telecommunications, gas, water, sustainable energy, public sector, transportation and the smart grid. Topics will include: · aspects of our infrastructure that require attention and the latest approaches to ensuring their sustainability; · solutions in place now that work and how they will evolve; · how regulatory compliance will impact near term decisions; · how can you leverage current systems in order to maximize lifespan and increase efficiency; · the latest trends in GIS. Energy Efficiency for Business
SMi’s Energy Efficiency for Business conference will take place on the 11th & 12th April 2011 in London. With the start of the CRC Energy Efficiency Scheme the incentives for UK companies to reduce their carbon emissions have significantly increased. The financial and social benefits of incorporating green policies are clear but the mechanisms for implementation of innovative technologies and procedures remain under development. SMi’s Energy Efficiency for Business conference will bridge this knowledge gap and provide the foundation for forming sound long-term energy efficiency strategy. This event will see senior industry experts come together to discuss the key considerations and challenges in cutting emissions. The solution focused programme will inform delegates of best practice sustainability strategy, improve understanding of the impact of corporate action today and assess innovative technologies and leading industry case studies. Public Sector Mapping Agreement (PSMA) Event
Enabling the Public Sector Mapping Agreement – System and Service Suppliers event From 1 April 2011 public sector organisations in England and Wales will have access to Ordnance Survey mapping data under a single agreement for the first time. This new agreement, known as the Public Sector Mapping Agreement (PSMA) for England and Wales will result in significant cost savings for the public sector and greater data sharing. The PSMA focuses on the provision of Ordnance Survey mapping data and does not include the provision of software systems and services. We would therefore like to work with you to enable the public sector to get business value from the agreement. To help system and service suppliers understand the new PSMA, you are invited to a half day event, hosted by the Association for Geographic Information (AGI) specifically for those organisations that can provide solutions to the public sector.

14 April . National Railway Museum at York

AGI North Event
2011 brings the AGI Northern Group conference. We’re at a junction point. At a time of great change to the economy, to technology and to social aspects, the Liberating Location event, hosted by the AGI Northern Group (#AGI_NG) looks at the current big issues with our big society: which way are we heading: full steam ahead or off the rails? What is the real impact of the economic change; what has been leveraged as a result of the release of open data; why does crowdsourcing matter; is the cloud just blowing smoke; and how do all these things join up? Watch this space for speakers at the event. We would welcome anyone excited by this agenda to present a paper. The National Railway Museum at York hosts the greatest collection of historic rail transport engines in the world, so why not make an event of it and take in the venue and the city? CPD Please note that as a delegate at this event you can allocate 4 points towards the AGI continuing professional development scheme. More information on the scheme can be found here. Attendance certificates can be requested. Address National Railway Museum Leeman Road York YO26 4XJ Registration AGI Member: £69+VAT Non Member: £195+VAT (click here for further information about membership) Non members of the AGI can only be invoiced if they supply a purchase order number
